ISO/TS 16949: Automotive Technical Specification:
The ISO/TS 16949 was jointly developed by the IATF members and submitted to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for approval and publication. ISO/TS 16949 is an ISO Technical Specification which aligns existing automotive quality system requirements within the global automotive industry. In conjunction with ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949 specifies the quality system requirements for the design/development, production, and where relevant, installation and servicing of automotive-related products.
The specification defines quality management requirements for organizations in the automotive supply chain that manufactures and/or adds value to parts being supplied in the automotive industry. This document, coupled with customer-specific requirements defines quality system requirements for use in the automotive supply chain. It is applicable only to sites where production or service parts are manufactured.
